FAQ
Answers to common questions about buying, selling, payments, shipping, returns, and protection.
Buying
How do I pay for an artwork?+
All payments are made securely through Sorisomun. Payment is processed through the platform and is not paid directly to the Seller outside Sorisomun.
Do I need to pay for shipping?+
Yes. Shipping costs are paid by the Buyer and are shown before checkout.
What is Sorisomun Care?+
Sorisomun Care is a mandatory 5% Buyer fee. It supports secure payment handling, Buyer assistance, and help with qualifying issues such as damage, non-delivery, significant mismatch, or disputes.
Can I get a refund?+
A refund may be available when an order is damaged, lost, not delivered, significantly different from the listing, cancelled before shipment, or otherwise qualifies under Sorisomun policies or applicable law. You must report an order issue within 2 business days after delivery and provide supporting evidence.
Can I return an artwork because I changed my mind?+
It depends on the Seller type. Purchases from Private Sellers generally do not include the standard EU consumer right of withdrawal. Purchases from verified Professional Sellers may include a 14-day statutory withdrawal right after delivery, unless a legal exception applies. The Buyer may be responsible for return shipping in a change-of-mind withdrawal.
What is the difference between a Private Seller and a Professional Seller?+
A Private Seller sells outside a professional or business activity. A Professional Seller sells as part of a professional, commercial, or organised activity. Sorisomun shows the Seller type before checkout because different consumer rights may apply.
Can I contact the artist before buying?+
Yes. You can message the Seller before purchasing if you have questions about the artwork, condition, dimensions, materials, shipping, or other listing details.
Selling
Is it free to list artworks?+
Yes. Uploading and listing artworks is free. A Seller fee is charged only when a sale is successfully completed.
What fees do you charge?+
Sorisomun charges a 10% Seller commission on completed sales. Buyers also pay a separate mandatory 5% Sorisomun Care fee. Shipping costs are normally paid by the Buyer.
How do I become a Seller?+
You need to apply with a brief portfolio and select whether you sell as a Private Seller or Professional Seller. The review supports a curated and trustworthy marketplace and is not intended to judge artistic worth. Applications are usually reviewed within 2 business days.
What is Professional Seller verification?+
Professional Sellers must provide accurate legal identity, address, contact, and applicable trade registration information. Professional Seller checkout may remain unavailable until Sorisomun has reviewed and approved the verification.
When do I get paid?+
Seller payouts are released according to the order status, delivery confirmation, and applicable review or dispute period. A payout may be delayed while a claim, withdrawal, return, refund, payment review, or suspected policy violation is being investigated.
Can I edit or remove a listing?+
Yes. You can update or remove an available listing from your dashboard. A listing may not be editable or removable after it has been purchased or while an order is being processed.
Can a company or gallery register as a Seller?+
No. Sorisomun currently accepts individual Sellers only. A Seller may register as an individual Private Seller or individual Professional Seller, but companies, galleries, foundations, associations, and other legal entities cannot open Seller accounts.
Shipping, returns & protection
Who is responsible for shipping?+
The Seller is responsible for packaging the artwork safely, shipping it within the stated period, and using appropriate protective materials. Fragile or special handling labels should be used where appropriate.
Is tracking required?+
Yes. Sellers must provide a valid tracking number for shipped orders unless Sorisomun has explicitly approved another delivery method.
What happens if the artwork is damaged or lost?+
The Buyer should report the issue through Sorisomun within 2 business days after delivery, or promptly after the expected delivery date for a missing order. Sorisomun may request photos, videos, packaging evidence, tracking information, and carrier documents before deciding whether a refund, return, repair, replacement, or other resolution applies.
What evidence is needed for a claim?+
Useful evidence may include photos or videos of the artwork, outer packaging, inner packaging, shipping label, visible damage, listing description, tracking history, and messages between the Buyer and Seller. Sellers should keep clear packaging and condition evidence before shipment.
Who pays for return shipping?+
When an artwork is returned because it is damaged, materially different from the listing, counterfeit, or otherwise non-compliant, the Seller may be responsible for reasonable return costs. For a statutory change-of-mind withdrawal from a Professional Seller, the Buyer may be responsible for return shipping unless the Seller or applicable law provides otherwise.
When will a refund be issued?+
Refund timing depends on the reason for the refund and whether a return is required. Sorisomun may wait until the returned artwork has been received or the Buyer provides valid proof of return. Payment provider processing times may also apply.
Can I refuse delivery or return an artwork without opening a claim?+
You should not return or refuse an order without first following the applicable Sorisomun claim or withdrawal procedure. Unauthorised returns may delay the review and refund process.
Platform
What can be sold on Sorisomun?+
Only artworks and related items permitted by Sorisomun policies may be listed. Sellers must have the legal right to sell each item. Counterfeits, unauthorised reproductions, misleading listings, stolen works, and intellectual property infringements are not allowed.
Does Sorisomun guarantee that every artwork is authentic?+
No. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy, authenticity, ownership, provenance, condition, and legality of their listings. Sorisomun may review reports and evidence, remove listings, restrict accounts, or request additional documentation, but does not independently authenticate every artwork.
Are users verified?+
Seller applications are reviewed internally. Professional Sellers must also complete legal information verification. However, verification does not guarantee the quality, authenticity, solvency, reliability, or future conduct of any user.
How are disputes handled?+
Order issues should be submitted within 2 business days after delivery with supporting evidence. Sorisomun reviews the listing, payment, shipping information, communications, and evidence from both parties before deciding the appropriate platform action.
Can Sorisomun suspend a listing or account?+
Yes. Sorisomun may hide or remove listings, restrict payments, delay payouts, request additional information, or suspend accounts when necessary for safety, legal compliance, dispute handling, fraud prevention, intellectual property protection, or enforcement of platform rules.
How can I report an artwork, Seller, or Somun post?+
Use the report option available on the relevant artwork, Seller profile, or Somun post. Provide a clear reason and any useful evidence so the report can be reviewed.
Are Sorisomun decisions final?+
Sorisomun may make an initial platform decision based on the available evidence and may reconsider it when relevant new information is provided. Platform decisions do not remove any mandatory legal rights or external dispute options available under applicable law.
